Seals {Informational Text, Story & Poem}

One seals resource with three different text types: Informational Text, a Fictional Story, and a Non-Fiction Poem. Everything you need for a successful Seals unit! You will receive lesson plans, discussion questions, standards-based responding pages, a seals mini-book and more!

I've provided two ways to interact with the informational text: Magazine Style with two columns per page and Full page which can be used for close reading and annotating.

To help students understand the different seal species there are special Fun Facts About Seals sheets about Weddell, Harp, Harbor, Elephant, Leopard and Hawaiian Monk Seals. The students will enjoy learning facts about each species!

Each literature type has 4-7 printables that are Common Core aligned and cover many of the ELA standards within the 3 major clusters: Key Ideas and Details, Craft and Structure, and Integration of Knowledge and Ideas.
