Use these Growth Mindset Testing Notes to encourage your students to be motivated to do their best on a test but hopefully eliminate as much of the stress as possible. Help them continue their growth mindset by understanding that one test cannot adequately assess all of the hard work they’ve done leading up to this point.
Motivational Slides: Choose from 10 slides to project and have a discussion with your students on how to maintain a growth mindset during testing. There are plenty of options; pick and choose which will be the best message your class needs to hear.
Sample of Slide Messages:
★ Have a hero’s mindset!
★ There are many ways of being smart!
★ Finish Strong!
★ Attitude is everything!
★ Your personal best is enough!
★ Your brain is counting on you. You can count on your brain!
Student Journals: Use the student journal pages to reflect on the topics about the motivational slides! There are 14 journal pages, each correspond with a slide and I added a few extra. They may be asked to:
- list ideas
- draw a picture
- jot down their thoughts
Positive Notes: The positive vibes don’t end with the slides, send a note home with your student to remind them about the growth mindset conversations you’ve had. There are 11 positive notes to choose from!
