I love Fall..if you've read any of my blog posts lately you will quickly come to that conclusion all on your own. Partly, it's the weather but mostly it's because of Halloween and Thanksgiving. I just love these two holidays. Halloween was always so much fun growing up. It's close to my brother's birthday so we almost always a had a Halloween/Birthday Party. I such great memories of us all dressing up and going trick-or-treating with friends. Plus living in Southern California I get to be near lots of theme ... Do you use scoots? When I first learned about scoots… I thought… well that looks like fun. I didn't ever expect them to become the most popular way of doing work in my class. My little kiddos actually cheer when I tell them we are going to be doing a "scoot" around the room. Cheer! As in "yay" or "yes"! Over. Doing. Work. That's what I call, teacher heaven. It's a win-win. I get my kiddos to work and they get to "scoot" around the room. What is a scoot? It's an easy way to get your ... Read More about Teacher Heaven
I've been looking forward for this week for awhile now… okay since the beginning of March. I love my kids dearly but I'm ready for a break. Last week was not fun for me. Basically, I was too busy to fully plan my week and boy did I pay for it. My students were driving me nuts…. I can't drink wine but if I could, I definitely would have had some!!! So this week I was prepared. I spent part of my weekend gearing up for this week. Think of a battle scene with war paint and everything. It was that intense. I must confess though, that in between the planning, I'd take small ( or not-so-small) breaks to read some blog posts. Doesn't everyone? And ... Read More about It’s Working… They’re Working
Well… it has been a crazy last few weeks. I feel like I've been running around from one school thing or another… I need a break. As you will soon see from my currently. I feel like March was taken up by report cards and conferences. Don't know how April got here so soon. I finally have a few minutes to link up with Farley from Oh Boy Fourth Grade. Disney music really does help put me in my "happy place"! As you keep reading… you'll see why I need a "happy place." Here is the honest truth about my ... Read More about Currently … finally
I feel like I am a little late to the party…the blogging party, that is. I am here now though and ready to go! I have to say that I am so excited to be starting my very own blog. (It's a little surreal, really.) Although my blog is new… I am not new to the blog world. I have been reading blogs for years now. Years! Deanna? I know her. Cara Carroll, yup got her dialed in. Abby? Kristin from a Teeny, Tiny Teacher? Yes and yes! Amy Lemon and Jen Jones. Check and double check! Don't forget ... Read More about To New Beginnings!
