Summer, summer! I love summer! I love my job and all that I get to do as a teacher, but let's be honest… being a teacher is a stressful job! So summer is the perfect time to relax and recharge!
Now I know if you are anything like me, you probably have a long list of to-dos! Ha! I also know that long list of to-dos probably doesn't only include relaxing. Am I right?
My to-do list is filled with professional development books I want to read. A webinar I want to listen to. It even includes a summer project I signed up to do with my district. So when do I get to relax? Well relax is also on my to-do list!
And I plan to relax!!!
So here goes…
5 Ways To Relax during Summer
1. Long naps
The postcard says it all! I hated taking naps as a kid but now… well now they just feel glorious! I really wish I could take a nap every day during summer. Realistically, that can't happen.
Even if you could sneak a couple of naps in throughout the week, you will definitely feel more rested!
2. Spa Day
Is there a Glen Ivy near you? I loooove this place. It's about 25 minutes drive from my home but so worth it! It's more than a spa… it's like an oasis! They've got pools, lounge areas, massages, yoga… it's basically adult Disneyland! (without the lines or the stress)
Even if you don't have a Glen Ivy near any spa will do. Want other ideas on how to relax and destress:
- Yoga
- Exercise
- Burn a candle
- Face Mask
- Foot Soak
- Manicure/Pedicure
- Prayer and Meditation
3. Baseball Games (and other outdoor fun!)
It's America's favorite past time right?
No? I don't know if it is anymore… maybe Pokeman Go is now America's favorite past time. Ha!
Anyway, I love a good baseball game. Baseball games have such nostalgia for me! They take me back to when I was a kid and we'd go as a family! Back then outfield was all we could afford but it didn't matter because just being there was enough!
Now you'd think the hustle and bustle of a game wouldn't be relaxing but for me, it's the perfect way to escape and enjoy time with my husband!
(Ha… yes, I know it's side ways… can you tell I'm new with WordPress…I'm trying to fix this…soon)
Here are more outdoor activities that can be a fun way to relax:
- Go on a Hike
- Movies at the Park
- Concert at the Park
- Beach Day
- Lake Day
- Paddle boarding
- Surfing
- Roller skating (I won't be trying this one… I am too worried I'd fall.)
4. Wine Tasting
Wine. Tasting.
Enough said!
Living close to Temecula is awesome because they have some fabulous wineries. We like to go on a the weekend and just enjoy our time. Time slows down when you get to wine taste and enjoy a plate of delicious cheese! Definitely a fun way to relax!
Don't have wineries near by? No problem!
Invite some gal pals over for a fun night of wine, cheese and gab!
5. Sunset Prayer Time
One of my favorite ways to relax is to watch the sunset! This picture is was taken in Huntington Beach. In the evening the beach settles down and it's just me, the sunset, my prayer journal and God. I love these moments. Not only do I walk away relaxed, I walk away renewed in spirit. I mean, look at this sunset… God is the best artist! Ha!
I really want you get time to enjoy time with family and friends! How do you plan to relax this summer? Let me know in the comments below!
